Rock n Soul Museum began as a research project of the Smithsonian Institution to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Smithsonian Institution in 1996. The museum, located at 191 Beale Street in Memphis, tell the story of musical pioneers who overcame racial and socio-economic barriers to create the music that shook the entire world.
